Frequently Asked Questions

Our broadband solution includes two elements:

  1. Your physical broadband connection (Line, Router & Broadband Package)
  2. Your Internet Services (Firewall, Web Filtering, Email, Antivirus, DNS Management, Support)

Absolutely!

We will discuss this with you in further detail as each school is unique.  We just need information from you before we can find your school the best deal. 

All you need to do is fill in the form on this page and we can get the ball rolling.

Although it can depend on your choice of internet connection, a typical fibre connection takes up to 5 weeks. 

During this process, we handle all the technical aspects in the background and keep you up to date every step of the way.

We recommend using either Microsoft Office 365, supplied with your OVS-ES license agreement or Google Mail.  

We don't mind which you choose and can fully support both systems.

It is time to move away from the old County Council supplied solutions such as Squirrel Mail and now is a perfect time!

The only way to provide that information is for you to fill in the form on this page.  Using the information you provide we can speak with suppliers and start the ball rolling on a quote for broadband.

Schools have changed quite a bit in the last few years so our pricing is flexible depending on the type of school you are:

We accept:

  • Annual Payments - Billed either on 1st April or 1st September
  • Monthly Payments – Billed at the start of each month.

Please note monthly payments can be tricky during the summer holiday, so we can work with you on how that works.

We keep it really simple, you get one bill, itemised as Broadband Connectivity and Broadband Support.

We can respond to line faults and issues with email and filtering.  We have a fully managed service desk that will deal with all logged tickets, usually responding within 30 minutes and most cases are resolved at first line. 

Adding websites to a blacklist or whitelist is a simple task that can be handled remotely and, as all our broadband offering are a direct connection and not centrally managed, you are in complete control.

Of course!

We can provide a connection only contract allowing you to source all the other components separately from any other supplier, keeping you in control and being fully autonomous. 

This is a common question without an easy answer. It depends on the following factors;

  • Geographical location.
  • Distance from school to the exchange.
  • Availability of fiber.  
  • Quality of cabling in your area.

All our quotes will provide a realistic speed estimate and depending on the connection type a minimum speed promise.

"The internet has become such an integral part of learning in education, not just in IT lessons, but in all subjects. Streaming, sharing content online and collaboration using such services like Google and Office 365 has become so commonplace in our classrooms that schools can’t afford to have anything less than the best. For The De Montfort School, It’s really important for us to have a fast, stable and reliable internet connection in place with the added benefit of having onsite monitoring and control so that changes to access, ports and URLs can be made swiftly, with little to no disruption to the lesson.

Changing broadband provider from our previous supplier to NETBuilder was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made, and installation was smooth and painless from the initial planning stages to the implementation of the new hardware and connection. We moved from a shared 100mbps connection which was divided by us and several other local schools, to a dedicated 200mbps fibre connection. We can now use Virtual Reality in the Classroom!
